How we calculate
pokequant follows 23 sets from Scarlet & Violet and Mega Evolution: 4,584 cards and 668 sealed products. Data updates every evening at 22:30 (Amsterdam time). We have been recording price history since Oct 18, 2026.
Sources
- TCGplayer: market price in dollars for cards and sealed, from the daily catalogue on TCGCSV. For each card we use the holo print if there is one, otherwise the normal print.
- Cardmarket: trend price and 7- and 30-day averages in euros, via TCGdex. We use the same print as on TCGplayer; store-stamped, Pokémon Center and reverse holo versions are separate products.
- Exchange rates: reference rates from the European Central Bank, per business day.
- PSA: population per grade via the PSA Public API, once certificates of a card are known.
- Card data: sets, numbers and images from TCGdex and TCGplayer.
Pull rates
For 17 sets the odds per pack per rarity come from measurements by the TCGplayer Authentication Center, with 350 to 8,500 opened packs per set. Paldea Evolved and Paradox Rift use the average of Scarlet & Violet and Obsidian Flames. Temporal Forces, Twilight Masquerade and Stellar Crown use Surging Sparks, because TCGplayer states the odds did not change in that period. Shrouded Fable comes from a community table and the RGB Mews in 30th Celebration are an estimate (1 in 7,500 packs). Derived odds are labelled "estimate" on set and card pages.
Within a rarity we assume every card is equally likely. Print variants such as Poké Ball and Master Ball foils are not counted separately.
Rip value and pull cost
- Rip value per pack = for each rarity with known odds: odds per pack × average TCGplayer price of the cards in that rarity, added up. Commons, uncommons and reverse holos are not included.
- Pack price = TCGplayer price of a loose booster pack. If there is none, the cheapest price per pack across single sealed products.
- Expected value of sealed = rip value × number of standard packs. Promo cards and accessories are not included.
- Pull cost = average number of packs to pull a specific card × pack price.
- Out of print = expected 2 years after release. This is a rule of thumb, not an announcement.
pokequant price
The median of the prices across all sources, in dollars. Each day uses the latest price of each source that is at most three days old. With two sources that is the average; once eBay is added, one deviating source no longer counts.
Analytics
Realized price, MVRV, NUPL and the other indicators in the metric explorer are translated from on-chain analysis. Because we do not see individual sales, we approximate the average purchase price with the average daily market price.
What is not included yet
- Sales and supply on eBay. Demand signals will follow.
- Prices of graded cards (PSA 10 and other grades); these follow with the eBay tracker.
- Price history before Oct 18, 2026.
